A dragon's egg, a majestic fountain nestled in the heart of an elegant 18th-century palace, and the age-old tales that weave together a philosophy of creation. That's exactly what Alessi brought to the table at MDW24 with their captivating installation, "Myth Makes Belief," crafted by the creative studio PlayLab, Inc. in Los Angeles with graphic design by Studio Temp. Drawing inspiration from the ancient legend surrounding the picturesque San Giulio island on Lake Orta, where Alessi originated over a century ago, this immersive installation beautifully symbolized the boundless creative energy of the company.

The egg symbolizes the constant birth of fresh, unique ideas, brought to life by diverse creators; and then there's the dragon, embodying the raw power of the creative force, the very essence of Alessi - a blend of artistry, exploration, and imagination pushing boundaries beyond the ordinary.

Surrounding the courtyard, four crafted stained-glass sculptures spun tales of the installation's concept, together with four displays showcasing Alessi's latest projects: Michael Anastassiades' Menhir espresso coffee maker; Naoto Fukasawa's elegant Eugenia glassware and Itsumo tableware sets, created by artist Samirō Yunoki; Nendo's Toru electric kettle.

What truly characterized the immersive installation was the possibility, given to visitors, to become a part of the narrative, wearing masks and replicating Alessi's iconic designs, from Alessandro Mendini’s timeless Anna G to Aldo Rossi's La Conica, immersing themselves in Alessi's creative universe and truly experiencing the installation.
